Possum Removal

PossumAs with all native animals, possums are protected under the Wildlife Act 1975. They cannot be harmed in any way or even captured without authority from the Department of Conservation and Environment.

Under normal conditions, the Common Brushtail Possum will choose to makes its den in a tree hollow high up in the canopy, but due to the lack of suitable trees in our suburbs possums will often adapt and enter the roof space in easily accessible houses. The Common Ringtail Possum usually builds a nest of dry twigs and leaves in dense foliage a few metres above the ground and seldom enters roof areas.
